Give the equation needed to solve each problem, and then solve each problem.



(1) James has 32 eggs. He gave some of his eggs away to Mrs Miggens. If James now has 13 eggs, how many eggs did he give to Mrs Miggens?

(2) Sarah has some money. After she gave $12 to her brother, Tom, she had $15 left. How much money did Sarah start with?

(3) Karen has some marbles. After she gave 15 marbles to her friend, Vernon, she had 22 marbles left. How many marbles did Karen start with?

[Let m = marbles]



(4) Farmer Fred has 65 sheep. After he sold some sheep, he had 32 sheep left. How many sheep did he start with?

[Let s = sheep]



(5) Visbhume gave his friend $5. If he now has $32, how much money did Visbhume start with?

[Let m = money]



(6) After some rabbits ate some of Farmer Brown's carrots, there were only 3 carrots left. Originally, Farmer Brown had 65 carrots. How many carrots did the rabbits eat?
