The EUPHEMISM

Now, what is a euphemism?

Basically, a euphemism is usually a polite way to say something which is embarrassing or unpleasant.

Like idioms EUPHEMISMS are often thought of as "sayings".

For example, this sentence:
"His clothes have seen better days," basically means that his clothes are shabby. We are just saying it in a "nicer" way. It is a euphemism.

Another example of a euphemism is this: "She passed away", meaning: "She died" .
